About the Artist:
René Thomsen studied under Louis Anquetin and Fernand Cormon at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne from 1921 and was connected to prominent artists such as Chaïm Soutine and Amedeo Modigliani. His works are held in important collections including the Pompidou Centre and the Petit Palais.
