Top picture:
The inside mount and the ornate decorative elements on the edge of the frame have been painted black, as shown in the photos. Few chips as seen.
Second picture (thick gold & black frame):
This frame has also been painted. Brush strokes are visible on the top surface, but are not noticeable once the picture is hung.
Three matching frames:
The prints show slight discolouration, consistent with their age.
